If one does not address the deepest parts of their souls, the unexplored-uninhabitable places of their consciousness, then how can a person even begin to allow the surrender of those parts of soul to the Holy Spirit?
Reminds me of Psalms 139:23-24 (NIV)
Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Do you think we could look at this? Or so forth. And as you just well said, you need that at every step of the journey. And without shadow work, you don't go on to the next level of consciousness, stage of holiness. If I can use language like that, I know it’s dangerous. But the ego will remain entirely enthroned in the name of religion. And you and I both know, at least what I know I can say, some of the most egotistical people I’ve ever met have been clergymen.1
