How often do we pray for disability that are mental in nature because they can be “healed,” or at the very least there is low risk for failure when someone doesn’t stand up from a wheelchair or grow a limb back. This would seem detrimental to those suffering with mental disabilities because a majority of the prayers are directed towards people with these unseen disabilities, which would naturally infer they are worse than physical disabilities.

Also, many participants believed that, through the word and teachings of Christ, the answers will become known and problems will be solved. Generally, participants were speaking more of a psychological or emotional healing, versus physical healing.” (Brennan and Rutledge, 2013, p. 83)
